As one of the first YouthBuild sites in Massachusetts, YouthBuild Lawrence has over 25 years of experience assisting young people complete their education and achieve economic self-sufficiency through empowerment and leadership skills, vocational training, career development, support services, post-secondary education and/or job placement in meaningful employment. Each year, YouthBuild-Lawrence transforms "high-risk” youth into “high-potential” young adults.  The transformation does not end with the students. YouthBuild Lawrence has shown a strong commitment to transforming Lawrence neighborhoods. As a key component of the YouthBuild, participants work along side skilled laborers to transform empty and vacant lots in the City into affordable housing. YouthBuild students create an investment in themselves in the classroom and in their neighborhoods on the job site.

The YouthBuild model includes a well-rounded cross-discipline project-based learning curriculum that incorporates: core academic courses leadership (Power Source & Urban Survival Laws) community service career development construction entrepreneurship social justice financial responsibility Restorative Practices and digital literacy

As a key component of the SISU model, YouthBuild provides students the soft skills necessary to succeed in a business setting,
